Vegas Movie Studio 16 would allow me to insert the file in the timeline, but would not allow it to play either audio or video. Cyberlink Power Director 15 would play the audio but showed no image. Interestingly, though, I tried inserting the original file in some of my other editing programs. The new clip inserted without problem into VS and played perfectly and in high quality as far as I could see. The main difference in the new clip was that it was an mpeg-4 H.264 Main Profile format.
So I tried converting it to a clip with similar properties using Handbrake. Media Info showed it as a Baseline L.4 AVC video, 1920 x 1080, constant 30 fps frame rate, 15.3 Mbps bitrate and AAC audio, but none of that, as far as I could see, would make VS refuse it. When I tried to either insert it in the library pane or the timeline, the File Explorer window would not allow it to be selected, and after a second or two, VS 2019 would close with no error message. so I would think that the files aren't being corrupted but they do seem to have a serious audio sync issues.įWIW, I just tried the longer clip _11-39-12.mp4 in VS 2019. But still can't import any of the longer ones that I've done three times over now.Īnd also, I can seem to upload the raw files directly to FB, YT, Vimeo etc. Even went back and tried making a few small test files again and those import right in, again 15-30 seconds and they go go right in without an issue. So then I thought maybe they were corrupt files maybe so, I re-shot one, then two, then three and they still won't import into VS. So I went and made the actual videos but their lengths are about 4-6 mins in length & now, when I try to import them in to either versions of VS, they just hang during import around the 95% mark and just sit there and churn, even after letting them sit for 5 -10 mins. And those imported right into both versions of VS with no trouble at all. So I made a few small quick tests shots, maybe 15-30 seconds in length.

So from there I just thought I would just try giving Logitech's capture software a whirl just to make sure I wasn't having a camera issue that seems fine & then thought I would just simply import the files (which look to be standard MP4 files & CiscoOpenH264 as their encoder).
But, every time I try to capture from either X8 or X9 (X8 is on my laptop & X9 is on my main PC), but, from both machines, as soon as I choose 'capture from device' (check box 1), I see the light ring on the logitech will flash briefly and 2 seconds later just closes both versions of VS I have on two completely different & separate machines. It's been awhile since I've had to record live, until earlier this past week. And since I moved up to X8 & then X9 I haven t had a need to capture anything until now.
When the camera was new I was using VSX6 and never had a problem 'capturing from device' with X6.

I've been using an older Logitech C922 pro for capturing live video.
